KinShip Cup™ — Privacy Policy

Last updated: February 28, 2026

This Privacy Policy explains how KinShip Cup™ (“KinShip Cup,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) collects, uses, and shares information when you use our website, apps, and related services (the “Service”). By using the Service, you understand the practices described below.

1) Information we collect

We collect information in three ways: (a) information you provide, (b) information generated through your use of the Service, and (c) information from service providers and data sources used to operate the Service.

A. Information you provide

  • Account information: email address, display name, password (stored in hashed form).
  • Eligibility information: birth year (used to help enforce our 13+ requirement).
  • Self-reported profile information: sex selection (Male, Female, or Prefer not to say), and any optional profile details you choose to provide.
  • League information you create: league name, settings, and invitations you send.
  • Communications: messages you send through in-app chat or to support.

B. Information generated through your use of the Service

  • League participation data: league membership, team selections/picks, scoring, standings, and results.
  • Notifications & email preferences: settings you choose, and delivery logs for transactional/recap emails.
  • Device and usage data: pages/screens viewed, clicks, session timing, and approximate location inferred from IP (typically city/region).

C. Information from third parties

We may use third-party sports data sources to display standings, results, team information, and historical records. Those sources may change or update over time.

2) How we use information

We use information to:

  • Provide and operate the Service (create accounts, run leagues, calculate scoring, and display standings).
  • Communicate with you (invites, confirmations, reminders, and recap emails).
  • Personalize and improve the Service (feature usage analysis, troubleshooting, performance monitoring).
  • Maintain safety and integrity (prevent abuse, enforce rules, detect fraud or misuse).
  • Comply with legal obligations and enforce our Terms.

3) How information is shared

A. With other league participants

Your activity in a league is inherently shared with other members of that league. Depending on league settings, this may include your display name, team selections/picks, scoring, standings, and league messages. If a league is set to “public,” some league information (such as league name, members, and standings) may be visible to others. If a league is “private,” access is limited to invited/approved members.

B. With service providers

We use vendors to help us operate the Service (for example: hosting, databases, email delivery, and analytics). These providers may process information on our behalf under agreements that limit their use of the data to providing services to us.

C. Legal and safety reasons

We may disclose information if we believe in good faith that disclosure is necessary to: comply with law or legal process; protect the rights, property, and safety of KinShip Cup, our users, or others; investigate fraud or security issues; or enforce our Terms.

D. Business transfers

If we are involved in a merger, acquisition, financing, reorganization, or sale of assets, information may be transferred as part of that transaction, subject to standard confidentiality protections.

4) Analytics and cookies

We use first-party Matomo Analytics (“Matomo”) to understand how the Service is used and to improve performance and features. For KinShip Cup launch, Matomo is configured in cookieless mode. It may still process usage signals such as pages viewed, session timing, browser/device type, and approximate location (city/region inferred from IP). You can control analytics collection by turning off **Enable anonymous usage analytics** in your Account settings. This preference is browser-specific. You can also use browser privacy settings (including Do Not Track) and cookie controls. If we introduce analytics or advertising features that require consent (for example cross-context ad sharing or retargeting), we will update this policy and implement an appropriate consent flow before enabling those features.

5) Your choices and controls

  • Account information: you may update certain account/profile details within the Service.
  • Email and notifications: you may be able to change notification preferences, but some messages are necessary to operate the Service (e.g., account or league invites).
  • Public vs private leagues: commissioners control league visibility and membership settings.
  • Analytics controls: you can disable anonymous usage analytics in Account settings.
  • Cookies: you can use browser settings to delete or block cookies.

6) Data retention

We retain information for as long as necessary to provide the Service and for legitimate business purposes such as maintaining league history, resolving disputes, enforcing our Terms, and complying with legal obligations. Retention periods may vary depending on the type of data and how it is used.

7) Security

We use reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards designed to protect information. However, no method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

8) Children’s privacy

The Service is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If we learn that an account is used by someone under 13, we may delete or restrict the account and associated information.

9) International users

If you access the Service from outside the United States, you understand that information may be processed and stored in the United States or other locations where we or our service providers operate.

10) Changes to this Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will update the “Last updated” date above. Continued use of the Service after an update means you accept the revised Privacy Policy.
